{"id":309,"date":"2019-11-14T16:15:01","date_gmt":"2019-11-14T15:15:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.tourisme-bougival.com\/?p=309"},"modified":"2023-02-10T07:07:23","modified_gmt":"2023-02-10T06:07:23","slug":"church-of-notre-dame","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tourisme-bougival.com\/en\/visit-bougival\/church-of-notre-dame\/","title":{"rendered":"Church of Notre-Dame de l\u2019Assomption"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>The Church of Notre-Dame de l\u2019Assomption (the Assumption of Our Lady)<\/h2>\n<p>was built during the first half of the 12th century and was restored at the end of the 19th century by Lucien Magne, one of the architects of the Sacr\u00e9-Coeur in Montmartre.<br \/>\nIts 12th century bell tower is a listed building. The church has two capitals, also 12th century, situated at the entrance to the chancel.<br \/>\nThe baptismal font dates back to the 16th century and the altar, carved from gilded wood, to the 17th century.<br \/>\nIn the south aisle, you can see the epitaph for Rennequin Sualem, the inventor of the machine known as the Marly Machine.
