Albert Lebourg

Albert Lebourg, Banks of the Seine at Bougival, 1874, Private Collection.

After spending a few years in Algiers as an art teacher, Albert Lebourg returned to France and exhibited with the Impressionists. He captured fleeting aspects of the valley of the Seine, of La Charente region or Auvergne. In about 1900, his touch became lighter and his subjects brighter.
